Gbarnga Marathon Foundation

The Gbarnga Marathon Foundation was originally intended to be an annual marathon run for charity to be held in Gbarnga City, Bong County, Liberia West Africa. Since 2010, the Gbarnga Marathon Run for charity started with hundreds of runners and spectators alike. It was the largest single day sporting event in Gbarnga.

Gbarnga City Marathon

The Gbarnga City marathon uses a single start line. The start features four corrals, with the first starting at 6:30 AM. Corrals assignments are determined by the predicted finish time of each runner indicated during registration. The Gbarnga City Marathon Will Follow the 2010 Course map, a vintage point of view of the Gbarnga/ Monrovia highway going through Harris farm, Suakoko, CARI, SKT, Phebe Hospital, Cuttington University, Iron Gate, Sugar Hill community, and ends at ST. Martins Catholic High School.

As you run this highly anticipated race, you will be greeted by our cheerleaders, by hundreds of residents, supporters and spectators who make Gbarnga renowned for its hospitality. People from all worth of life will line up the course to entertain and cheers you to victory/finish line. In short, the Gbarnga City Marathon is classified as a flat race with over 90% known to be flat and fast, Ideal for personal Records.

Gbarnga Marathon Health and Fitness Expo

Join the 100 Runners and fitness enthusiasts at the Gbarnga Marathon Health and Fitness Expo. This day Expo is open to the public and features vendors with official race running merchandise, the latest running apparel, health and fitness information, diabetes awareness and taking vitals, and so much more.

We Are Gbarnga Marathon Run

6:30 AM - Saturday, May 30, 2026

Course map: The Gbarnga Marathon uses a single line starting at 6:30 am. Assignments are determined by a predicted finish time of each runner indicated during registrations.

Refueling Stations

Water and Gatorade Endurance Formula are available every two miles. The last water and Gatorade endurance tables are marked by a sign. Please keep moving even after picking up your drink. If you want to slow down to drink, do so without blocking other runners. For your protection, take fluids only at the official Gbarnga Marathon tables. They will be protected by our security.

Course Nurses Stations

Course Nurses Aid stations will be adjacent to every refueling station to check vitals: 1 weight, 2 Oxygen level, 3 Temperature level, 4 Blood Pressure and Pulse level.

Course Entertainment

As you run this highly anticipated race to create Diabetes Awareness, and Campaign out for hunger, you will be cheered by 100’s of Residents, Supporters and Spectators who make Gbarnga renowned for its hospitality. People from all parts of life will entertain and cheer you to the end.
